Certainly, your feet have a lot to say when you are standing up for a long time, wearing shoes that are too narrow or when the heels are too high, but did you know that they also reveal your intentions loud and clear? Yes, you read that right. Your feet reveal, to people who know how to understand them, what you want and feel.
Everyone aspires to know a little bit about people’s intent, and we try to do so by looking at their faces. Although it reveals a multitude of intentions and much about our personality, it is also the most deceptive part of our body, especially for the “professional liars” or poker players. On the other hand, we pay so little attention to our legs and feet that they are the purest revealers of our intentions.
So… let’s have a little fun and take a look at 4 intentions or feelings, revealed by our feet:
- Demonstration of Joy: feet that wiggle and bounce are indicators that you are happy or excited about something. For example: when you watch a game where your favorite team is playing and about to win, or when a person is waiting for the return of his / or her loved one at the airport, etc. (A note of caution; feet and legs that wiggle and jump can also be a sign of stress).
- The desire to leave: when you talk to someone and they have one or both feet that are pointed away from you, chances are that the person would like to leave the conversation or that they have to be elsewhere.
- Taking your place: this one is the easiest to recognize, you just have to look at the spacing of the legs. When someone stands with their feet apart, it’s a sign that the person tries to establish some control over their environment or situation, or that they are ready to defend themselves (either physically or their point of view). It’s a sign of authority and self-confidence.
- Legs crossed when sitting: when someone’s crossing their legs when seated, they can do so in favor of the person with whom they are the most comfortable with. So, if you are sitting on the right of another person and that person is crossing the left leg over his right leg, he is comfortable with you. The opposite marks a desire for protection, he or she uses his leg as a barrier between you.
Of course, I could go on for a long time, because I love studying and sharing my knowledge of body language, but I will stop here for this article.
Remember, body language is a subconscious projection of our emotions. Click To Tweet We can read the language that others demonstrate but also ours, which can enlighten us on certain situations where our feeling are a little confusing because the subconscious does not do not lie.
